LET ME
INTRODUCE
MYSELF

black.png

Hi, I'm Heather!

I'm a 35 year old laid-back goof and single mother of two littles, with a lifelong obsession of all things love and photography related. My natural tendency to want to connect with everyone in some way, make people laugh & talk about anything, helps me capture my clients at their most happy & authentic.

I specialize in clear, easy-to-follow posing for anyone who feels like they need a little more direction to look natural in-front of the camera, and detail retouching work, which helps to elevate your images.

If you're looking for a photographer who can capture not only every detail of your love, be it your significant other, family, or wedding day, but also your true personalities by guiding you through natural, flattering posing and movement, you've come to the right place!

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO

When I was a child, my camera and I were inseparable! I brought it everywhere with me and took photos of everything I could think of. In high school, I took classes in film photography, (and my friends would tease me for taking photos of them on all of our adventures). I enjoyed working at a photo studio for 2 years and was overjoyed to win blue ribbons in the county fair.

In 2015, I started working for 2 well-known companies doing product photography, social media marketing and public relations. My sister asked me to take headshots for her and I realized that I missed taking photos of people. From there, I began taking photography classes and offering free sessions to gain more experience and grow in my craft. In 2017, I officially opened Heather James Imagery to further follow my passion.

In my first year of business, my work was featured on the cover and inside of Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene magazine, Apple Brides, Tacori Wedding Blog, Popsugar and many more. In my second year of business, I was runner-up for the North Idaho Business Journal Best of 2018. In 2020, I was once again featured on the cover and inside of Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene magazine wedding feature.

In 2021, I was featured in the Meridian Lifestyle magazine wedding edition. I am currently a photojournalist for Eagle Magazine, Greenbelt Magazine and Meridian Magazine.

I guess you could say it runs in the family!
